Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a field-based sales professional to manage a Rhode Island territory, execute brand strategies, and build strong relationships with healthcare providers. The role emphasizes patient-centered care while achieving sales targets and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

The candidate should reside within a reasonable distance of the primary city and align with AbbVie’s policies and regulations. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience
• Strong product, disease-state, and competitive knowledge; credible resource for stakeholders
• Ability to operate in a matrix environment and use business tools for planning and tracking
• Experience in physician/account-based selling or managed health care is a plus
• Excellent English (verbal and written) skills

Responsibilities

• Execute brand strategy in the field and manage territory and accounts to maximize sales performance
• Deliver sales KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
• Create pre-call plans and perform post-call evaluations to improve performance
• Handle objections and customer concerns to close on sales calls
• Develop call plans to optimize coverage and frequency with key customers
• Build knowledge of territory, competitors, and market segments to align strategy and execution
• Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and develop disease-state experts and speakers
