Standard Iron is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Production Welding Lead to provide day-to-day leadership for welding staff, ensuring schedules, quality, safety, and customer specs are met. You will troubleshoot, train, and drive continuous improvement while promoting a safe, efficient team environment.

The role emphasizes leading by example, owning safety practices, and coordinating with supervisors and quality to resolve issues and improve production flow.

Qualifications

• Experience leading welding teams in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.
• Skilled in MIG/MAG welding processes and applications.
• Strong safety and quality focus in production environments.
• Ability to train and mentor welding staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to production welding employees.
• Lead by example by following safety, quality, productivity, and attendance expectations.
• Monitor production schedules and ensure work is completed on time.
• Set up and operate MIG/MAG welding equipment and assist employees with processes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, work instructions, and customer specifications.
• Inspect welds and finished products to ensure quality and customer requirements.
• Identify and troubleshoot welding, fit-up, equipment, and process issues.
• Assist with training, onboarding, and cross-training of welding employees.
• Provide coaching to improve performance, quality, and productivity.
