Job summary

TBEI, Lake Crystal is seeking a skilled Lead for the Welding Department to guide a team of welders, organize workflows, and ensure high-quality craftsmanship. This role emphasizes safety, continuous improvement, and effective communication with supervision and cross-functional teams.

The Lead will monitor production, assign tasks, manage resources, and drive SQDIP metrics while performing welding tasks and supporting the overall manufacturing process. On-site role with a typical 40–50 hour week.

Qualifications

• Post high school education preferred.
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, Excel and reports.
• Lead with safety as a priority and follow safety procedures.
• Prioritize and meet customer delivery dates.
• Understand Bill of Materials and metal fabrication flow.
• Willingness to learn CNC, fabrication, welding, paint, and installation.
• Demonstrate leadership and mentor employees.
• Apply Lean continuous improvement principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist employees to meet the production schedule while maintaining personal production responsibilities.
• Assign tasks and distribute workload to meet daily production requirements and deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with employees, supervisor, and other areas (documentation, reports).
• Identify resources and maintain inventory levels for the assigned area.
• Assist supervisor with performance appraisals and uphold company policies.
• Lead employees to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity (SQDIP) metrics.
• Drive Continuous Improvement activities to improve processes and productivity.
• Actively engage in welding while adhering to safety protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
