Job summary

OneGoal, headquartered in Chicago, seeks a Managing Director of External Affairs for the Midwest. You will set strategic direction for the Midwest Development team, cultivate a donor pipeline, and align with national fundraising efforts to meet multi‑million targets.

Based in the Chicago metro, you will travel up to 8 times per month to engage foundations, corporations, and individuals. This role requires a track record in Chicago fundraising, team leadership, and a deep knowledge of the Midwest

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree is required.
6–8 years development experience (fundraising)
Previous management experience
Demonstrated fundraising experience within the Chicago market
Experience managing fundraising targets of $4,000,000 and above
Understanding of the Chicago/Midwest philanthropic and education landscape
Experience launching fundraising strategies in new or emerging markets
Willingness to travel up to 8 times per month

Responsibilities

Set strategic vision and direction for the Midwest Development team, including growth in Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin.
Engage donors and expand brand awareness across Chicago and Midwest markets.
Manage portfolio of donors, analyze progress to goal, and drive revenue growth.
Collaborate with national External Affairs for cross‑team fundraising opportunities and alignment.
