Job summary

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA is seeking an Area Director to lead a ministry team across multiple campuses, planting witnessing communities for students and faculty who follow Jesus. The role focuses on spiritual growth, leadership development, and regional collaboration to advance InterVarsity’s mission.

The position involves strategic planning, staff supervision, and fundraising support, with a pay range reflecting 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum three years campus ministry or equivalent work experience required.
• Strong ministry skills including ability to communicate spiritual vision, teach spiritual and biblical principles, plan ministry programs, and disciple, coach and mentor.
• Proven ability to work well with others and to develop a team of campus ministers.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to minister to diverse ethnic communities and faculty.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with word processing, presentation, email, and spreadsheet software.

• Pursue a vibrant relationship with God through Scripture, prayer, and worship, both individually and in community.
• Exercise self-leadership and relational integrity while maintaining resiliency.
• Embrace Scriptural standards for behavior and attitudes, including the Code of Conduct.
• Lead staff, students, and faculty through Scripture, prayer, teaching and discipleship experiences, aligning ministry with vision.
• Create a culture of dependence on God to gain vision for campuses and reach every corner of every campus in your area.
• Recruit ministers and develop them to grow in Christ and in mission, while building diverse teams.
• Develop ministry partnerships and establish systems, processes and protocols for regular operations, reporting and budgeting.
