Job summary

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA in Michigan seeks an Area Director to lead campus ministry development, recruit ministers, and coordinate spiritual growth across campuses. The role emphasizes vision, leadership, collaboration, and fundraising.

You will work with staff, students, and faculty, model InterVarsity's Core Values, set annual goals, and travel to campuses as needed. A Bachelor's degree and at least three years of campus ministry experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum three years campus ministry or equivalent work experience required.
• Strong ministry skills including vision communication, teaching, planning and mentoring.
• Proven ability to build and develop a campus ministers team.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage diverse communities and faculty.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.
• Familiarity with word processing, presentation, email and spreadsheet software.

Responsibilities

• Spiritual Growth: nurture personal and community growth among staff and students.
• Campus Ministry Leadership: guide ministers, students and faculty to grow witnessing communities.
• Organizational Collaboration: partner regionally and nationally to set vision and strategies.
• MPD: develop ministry partnerships and ensure funding through donors and partners.
• Recruitment and development: identify and develop ministers for current and new campuses.
• Use coaching, assessment, correction and affirmation to guide staff behaviors.
