Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc. seeks a Business Development Manager to drive growth for SEM Allied Products across the US and Canada, focusing on expanding distribution and increasing market share in existing accounts.

You will collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Technical and Key Account teams to deliver superior commercial execution and enhance the customer experience. The ideal candidate resides in the United States Midwest, preferably near the Cleveland, OH area, with 5+ years in sales or business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or category management in automotive refinish, industrial distribution, or related markets.
• Knowledge of SEM Allied Products.
• Negotiation skills, and ability to close opportunities.
• Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain automobile insurance, have access to a personal vehicle that meets PPG's FAVR program requirements, and successfully pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) review.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities across USCA according to SEM's priorities.
• Expand distribution coverage by onboarding and supporting new distributors, jobbers, and retail partners.
• Lead commercial programs focused on categories including abrasives, masking, aerosols, body fillers, and paint cups.
• Develop business cases, growth plans, and clear financial targets for new opportunities.
• Partner with our regional sales teams to accomplish Allied portfolio plans.
• Conduct regular business reviews with distributors and large body shop groups to evaluate performance and identify growth actions.
• Work with Marketing to develop sales tools, training materials, and category promotions.
• Translate insight into applicable recommendations for pricing, product positioning, promotions, and channel strategies.
