Job summary

PPG Industries is seeking a Business Development Manager for the Midwest region to grow SEM Allied Products across the US and Canada, expanding distribution and driving market share. You will work with Sales, Marketing, Technical and Key Account teams to deliver commercial execution and accelerate the Allied portfolio in automotive refinish, body shop, commercial, and retail channels.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in sales or business development, a Bachelor's degree, a valid driver’s license,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or category management in automotive refinish, industrial distribution, or related markets.
• Knowledge of SEM Allied Products.
• Negotiation skills and ability to close opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities across USCA according to SEM priorities.
• Expand distribution coverage by onboarding and supporting new distributors, jobbers, and retail partners.
• Lead commercial programs focused on abrasives, masking, aerosols, body fillers, and paint cups.
• Develop business cases, growth plans, and clear financial targets for new opportunities.
• Partner with regional sales teams to accomplish Allied portfolio plans.
• Conduct regular business reviews with distributors and large body shop groups to evaluate performance and identify growth actions.
• Work with Marketing to develop sales tools, training materials, and category promotions.
• Translate insight into pricing, product positioning, promotions, and channel strategies.
• Utilize PPG’s FAVR program to drive own vehicle with tax-advantaged reimbursement for related expenses.
