Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is seeking a Project Engineer to lead multi-discipline projects from concept through commissioning. You will oversee scope, cost, schedule, and procurement while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

This role reports to the Engineering Director and requires collaboration across departments. Responsibilities include design reviews, bid preparation, and field support with up to 50% travel to Denver, CO, San Antonio, TX, and Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, chemical, or electrical engineering or related field from ABET-accredited program.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact across all levels.
• Current valid driver’s license; willingness to travel up to 50% to field locations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with affected departments during project development to estimate resources, schedules, and benefits.
• Supports detailed design reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
• Prepares bid requests for materials and equipment; evaluates proposals
• Manages multiple projects from conception to commissioning and start-up.
• Leads project safety meetings and supports HES goals.
• Troubleshoots operational issues and optimizes processes.
