Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation seeks a Project Engineer to manage midstream gas processing facility projects in a full lifecycle role from engineering to commissioning. You will coordinate with multiple departments to ensure scope, cost, and schedules meet objectives, while driving safety and process improvements.

The role requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel up to 50% to field locations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, chemical, or electrical engineering from ABET accredited institution.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Current valid driver's license; willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

Manages all aspects of assigned projects through engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.
Collaborates with departments to vet resource estimates, schedules, and safety impacts.
Prepares bid requests and evaluates proposals based on sound engineering and business principles.
Leads project safety meetings and supports HES goals.
Takes part in design reviews, risk assessments (HAZOPs, PHAs, PSSRs).
