Job summary

IPG in Michigan is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Midnight Shift to lead daily production, coordinate materials, and keep operations running smoothly while ensuring safety. You will plan, organize, and monitor production activities and respond to equipment issues to minimize downtime.

The role emphasizes coaching hourly staff, enforcing policies, partnering with HR on disciplinary actions, and driving continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous leadership experience in a role such as Team Lead or supervisor preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred.
• Ability to supervise fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Plans, supervises, and directs daily production operations to minimize downtime and achieve goals.
• Coaches, trains, orients, and motivates hourly employees to meet safety and quality targets.
• Participates in selection and interviews for hourly positions.
• Appraises employee performance and recommends promotions or transfers.
• Drives cost reductions and continuous improvements in methods or equipment.
• Manages safety, housekeeping, and emergency response as needed.
• Oversees payroll hours approval, reporting, and related tasks.
