Job summary

ConocoPhillips in Midland, Texas seeks a Facilities Engineer to design, operate, and improve surface facilities across assets in the Midland Basin. You’ll partner with operations, environmental, safety, and maintenance teams to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions that protect asset value and production.

The role emphasizes safety, engineering judgment, and collaboration across disciplines, offering growth in facilities engineering and asset support within a dynamic oil & gas environment.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
• Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to support safe and reliable facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with diverse teams to plan and execute facility infrastructure.
• Provide engineering support for day-to-day operations and emergencies.
• Develop and update operating and maintenance procedures for safety and efficiency.
• Support regulatory compliance and health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Assist project teams through the full lifecycle from scope to start-up.
• Identify facility projects to improve safety and production performance.
• Coordinate interfaces and tie-ins with other engineering groups.
• Support maintenance activities and evaluate replacement equipment.
• Monitor project progress, costs, and reconciliation.
• Lead or support Management of Change for safe facility modifications.
• Contribute to risk assessments and incident investigations for continuous improvement.
