Job summary

Global Kids, Inc. is seeking a Global Kids, Middle School Site Director to lead our after-school programming at a New York City site.

This full-time role manages social-emotional wellness programs, college and career prep, and academic enrichment, ensuring engaging, developmentally appropriate activities for middle school students. The position is in-person, based in New York City, requires leadership experience with NYC public schools and a commitment to global education and youth development.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant professional experience, or a bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant professional experience.
• Approved DOH SACC Director or SACC accreditation.
• Experience supervising personnel and managing teams.
• Experience working in or closely with NYC public schools.
• Experience with and enthusiasm for using interactive learning strategies with middle school-aged youth.
• Commitment to and understanding of working in culturally diverse settings and using antiracist pedagogical practices.
• Knowledge of and passion for global issues, political science, history, education, social justice, and human rights.
• Excellent facilitation, consensus-building, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong work ethic, initiative, creativity, willingness to learn, and ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
• Fluency in other languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement yearly curriculum maps aligned with GK outcomes, SONYC program model, and contractual obligations.
• Coordinate and write interactive, experiential workshops and activities for GK’s weekly school-based after-school programs.
• Lead/co-facilitate after-school activities as needed.
• Design programs and activities appropriate for middle school students focusing on social-emotional health, STEM, global and local issues, service learning, and other content areas.
• Organize special events such as field trips, mini-conferences, family nights, and performances.
• Ensure student and Global Kids staff participation in GK citywide events.
• Occasional overnight and long-distance travel required.
• Data collection using the Global Kids data management tool.
