Job summary

South Burlington School District is seeking a Music Tutor at Frederick H. Tuttle Middle School in South Burlington, Vermont.

The role involves providing intensive tutoring aligned with school curricula, under supervision of the Principal and Director of Educational Support Services. The position requires at least 1 year of relevant experience; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education or content area is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in education or equivalent; 1+ year of experience preferred.
• Experience with IEP processes and accommodations.
• Strong time management and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to tailor lessons to student needs.

Responsibilities

• Presents subject matter to students under the director and guidance of teachers, using learning tools, discussion, and/or technology.
• Provides academic assistance to assigned students, individually or in small groups, to master assignments and develop study skills.
• Adapts tutoring to fit the capabilities of the assigned student per IEP.
• Maintains professional interactions with students, parents, and staff; collaborates with teachers or case managers.
• Evaluates students' academic and personal growth and prepares periodic assessments.
