Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university.
Foundations of special education course completed or willingness to take.
Will work toward a provisional Special Education License in NC.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain relationships with students, peers, administrators, support staff, and parents.
Assess and monitor student achievement and maintain reports.
Design and implement instructional strategies and activities.
Manage student behaviors to maintain a conducive learning environment.
Coordinate instructional activities with staff to maximize learning.
Communicate progress to students and parents.
Collaborate with professionals and support staff on schoolwide activities.
Use multimedia and technology to enhance learning.
Plan lessons based on objectives for varied ability levels.
Provide development and support for IEPs/BSPs.
Other duties as assigned.
