Job summary

Responsibilities include establishing relationships, planning lessons, implementing instructional strategies, supporting IEPs, collaborating with staff, and engaging with families to monitor student progress. Bachelor's degree required in any field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in any field.
• Foundation of special education course or willingness to take it as a term of employment.
• Commitment to obtain provisional NC SPED license.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, administrators, support staff and parents.
• Continually assess and monitor student achievement and maintain documentation for reporting.
• Design and implement instructional strategies and activities.
• Manage student behaviors to ensure a conducive learning environment.
• Assist in management of student behaviors in other school settings as required.
• Coordinate instructional activities with other professionals to maximize student learning.
• Participate in in-service and professional development activities and staff meetings.
• Communicate instructional expectations to students and provide progress updates to parents.
• Collaborate with professionals to carry out schoolwide instructional activities.
• Use multimedia and technology to enhance learning.
• Plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives for diverse learners.
• Provide development, management, and support for IEPs and BSPs.
