Bachelor’s degree holders can participate and may become eligible for a provisional teaching license in SPED for the 2026-27 school year and beyond. The role emphasizes collaboration, assessment, and inclusive learning strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university.
• Foundations of special education coursework or willingness to take.
• Pursuit of provisional Special Education License in NC for 2026-27.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with students, peers, administrators, support staff and parents.
• Assess and monitor student achievement and maintain documentation for reporting.
• Design and implement instructional strategies and activities.
• Manage student behaviors to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Coordinate activities with other staff to maximize learning opportunities.
• Communicate progress to students and parents; participate in professional development.
