Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing seeks a Special Education Teacher focused on math for a year-long contract near University Place, WA. You will provide resource-based math instruction to middle school students with mild to moderate disabilities and help develop IEPs in collaboration with families and a supportive educational team.

The role emphasizes differentiated math instruction, strong communication, and collaboration within a dedicated school community, with a 37.5 hour work week, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Valid Washington SPED credential.
• ESA certification required.
• Experience teaching middle school preferred.
• Ability to differentiate math instruction for students with mild to moderate disabilities.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small group math instruction for middle school students in a resource environment.
• Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with team members and families.
• Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting approaches to promote growth.
• Partner with general education teachers, instructional assistants, and support staff to support inclusion and academic success.
• Utilize positive behavior support strategies and data-driven practices.
• Create an encouraging and responsive learning space tailored to student needs.
