Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support middle school students with diverse learning needs in a contract, onsite role for the 2026-2027 academic year. The position runs August 26, 2026, through June 11, 2027, with a Monday–Friday schedule and full-time hours.

The ideal candidate holds a Washington state Special Education certification and has experience tailoring instruction, collaborating with staff, and maintaining thorough documentation to support student

Qualifications

Current and valid Special Education Teacher Certification issued by the state of Washington.
Experience working with middle school students with disabilities is highly desirable.
Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet individualized needs.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs in accordance with their IEPs.
Develop and implement effective, individualized lesson plans and behavioral strategies.
Work closely with general education teachers, related services staff, and families.
Assess student progress and adjust programming as necessary.
Participate in IEP meetings, maintain appropriate documentation, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Create a classroom atmosphere where all students feel safe, supported, and empowered.
