Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year in the Tacoma, WA area. This full-time contract role serves K–4 students in an ACCESS program, collaborating across multiple schools to deliver tailored IEP-based instruction.

The position emphasizes teamwork with educators, therapists, and administrators, ongoing family communication, and data-driven instruction with district IEP systems. Travel between district schools is required and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid Washington State Special Education Teaching Certification.
• Experience or enthusiasm for supporting students from kindergarten through fourth grade in self-contained or ACCESS settings.
• Strong understanding of IEP development, assessment, and implementation.
• Effective communication skills, including comfort with digital platforms for meetings or training.
• Flexibility to travel between schools within the district and adapt to changing caseload needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) utilizing district-supported systems, ensuring alignment with student goals and state requirements.
• Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth.
• Collaborate with fellow educators, therapists, and administrators to implement best practices and share effective strategies.
• Communicate progress with families and participate in team meetings to help shape program initiatives.
