Job summary

DSST Public Schools in Denver, CO, is seeking a Special Education Teacher (Mild/Moderate) for a part-time, 0.5 FTE, in-person role at Montview Middle School. You will lead IEPs, write data-driven goals, monitor progress, and collaborate with general education teachers to deliver targeted interventions.

The position requires a Colorado teaching license with a special education endorsement, a commitment to equity and inclusion, and flexibility to support MTSS and after-school activities.

Qualifications

• Teaching license with special education endorsement required.
• Colorado endorsement or transfer of out-of-state credentials discussed.

Responsibilities

• Be an IEP Case Manager: manage student portfolios, write data-driven IEPs, develop goals, monitor progress, deliver targeted interventions.
• Ensure accommodations/modifications with MTSS Team collaboration.
• Manage a paraprofessional support team as needed for 1:1 services.
• Deliver rigorous and culturally responsive content in co-taught settings with general education partners.
• Track and support student growth through assessments to guide instruction.
• Promote a positive classroom and school culture and validate student identities.
• Pursue ongoing professional development focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
• Contribute to school community through recruitment and after-school tutoring and other duties.
