Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Horizon City, TX is seeking a dedicated IDEA College Prep Teacher to empower students to master academic and social skills necessary for college success. You will plan rigorous daily lessons, track student progress, and collaborate with families to support growth.

Responsibilities include implementing state standards, delivering engaging instruction, submitting weekly lesson plans, and maintaining a positive classroom culture that reflects IDEA’s values.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution is required.
• Experience: Experience in a K-12 classroom setting is strongly preferred.
• Licenses or Certifications: State certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
• Learn, master, and deliver content and grade level curriculum and texts.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Implement assessments to track progress and update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly.
• Facilitate using technology to improve achievement and manage tasks.
• Maintain a consistent behavior management system aligned with campus initiatives.
• Contribute to a positive school culture and strong community relationships.
• Host tutoring sessions as needed and participate in meetings and duties.
