Job summary

KIPP New Jersey is seeking a paraprofessional to support students as they climb the mountain to college and beyond. You’ll work closely with teachers to provide targeted instructional assistance, reinforce skills, and help manage classroom activities.

This role emphasizes strong relationships with students and families, plus participation in behavior support plans, attendance tracking, and coordination of related services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 48 semester hours from an accredited institution.
• ABS training
• IEP knowledge and experience with individualized plans.
• Hold high expectations for each student and build positive rapport.

Responsibilities

• Provide small group or 1:1 instructional assistance for remediation and practice.
• Assist in classroom preparations and reinforce instructional materials per student needs.
• Implement and track progress of behavior intervention plans (BIP).
• Conduct attendance, maintain daily student progress records, and program tracking.
• Transition students to and from related service sessions (speech/language, occupational therapy, physical therapy, counseling).
• Assist students with physical or mental disabilities with activities of daily living to maximize participation in school.
• Work with teachers to implement an integrated curriculum and student-centered environment.
• Participate in development and execution of school-wide culture supports aligned with school values.
• Follow all safety rules and procedures for all students.
