Job summary

Silicon Valley International School in Edison, NJ seeks a Learning Specialist for the Middle School to provide push-in/pull-out support for students with learning differences. You will assess, plan, and monitor progress, collaborating with teachers, families, and Student Services to tailor accommodations and interventions.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Special Education with a strong emphasis on inquiry-based learning and bilingual education, plus DEI experience and collaboration

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Special Education or Education is required.
• Two years of teaching experience, preferably in independent schools.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Meets regularly with students to provide targeted academic interventions.
• Administers assessments, develops learning plans, and tracks progress.
• Monitors caseload progress and maintains accurate records.
• Creates individualized learning plans with accommodations for tests.
• Designs or co-leads professional development for faculty.
• Consults with teachers and families to interpret screenings and plan supports.
• Communicates with families about student progress and needs.
• Coordinates with Student Services for consistent support.
• Reads neuropsychological reports and interprets results for staff.
• Uses data to assess current and future needs of our students.
