Job summary

Excel Academy Charter Schools is seeking a Middle School Learning Specialist to provide targeted instructional support and inclusive education for students with high needs. The role emphasizes collaboration with general education teachers to differentiate, adapt, and align Special Education services with district standards.

The position requires at least a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and experience in urban public or charter settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in urban public or charter school setting preferred.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, or other languages common among our students and families) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Teach daily instructional support to students on caseload.
• Serve as an inclusion teacher to support students with high needs.
• Differentiate curriculum and create effective accommodations; modify curriculum as needed.
• Ensure that Special Education services align with school and state regulations.
• Manage paperwork for IEPs, 504s, and other accommodations.
• Maintain regular communication with students’ parents/guardians and families.
