Qualters Middle School in Mansfield, MA seeks a full-time School Counselor to deliver a comprehensive counseling program for grades 6–8. The role includes direct student services, small-group work, and schoolwide initiatives to promote academic, social-emotional, and career readiness.

The counselor will collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and community partners, manage 504 plans, and support transitions from middle to high school while ensuring ethical data practices.

Qualifications

• Certification required: MA DESE licensure as School Counselor (5–12) or School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor.
• Eligibility: Citizenship, residency or work visa as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Implement a comprehensive school counseling program addressing academic, social-emotional, college and career needs for grades 6–8.
• Collaborate with students, families, teachers, and community providers to identify needs and coordinate services.
• Support college, career, and civic readiness through MyCAP and academic planning.
• Assist transitions into middle school and to high school; respond to safety and crisis concerns.
• Maintain confidential data and documentation per ethical, legal, and district requirements.
• Serve as case manager for 504 plans, coordinating meetings and accommodations.
