Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Certification as a School Counselor by the Massachusetts Department of Education.
• Preference for advanced degree training in guidance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of theories of intellectual, social, and emotional development.
• Familiarity with guidance counseling frameworks and practices.

Responsibilities

• Counsel whole class, small groups and individual students.
• Provide and support a comprehensive school counseling program for grades 6–12.
• Consult with teachers, staff, and parents regarding student development.
• Maintain records and document interactions, interventions, and decisions.
• Refer students and families to community resources as appropriate.
• Participate in program evaluation and district professional development.
