Qualifications

• Active Florida Professional Educator Certificate: Guidance and Counseling (PK-12) is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides an ongoing program of individual, small group, and large group counseling services in academic advisement, career awareness, and social/personal development per national ASCA standards.
• Consults and collaborates with administrators, teachers, school personnel, district personnel, parents, and community agencies to meet middle school counseling needs.
• Interprets and utilizes school records for educational planning; reviews transcripts.
• Addresses individual student needs and refers to appropriate school/community resources.
• Provides preventive and responsive services, including crisis counseling, as needed.
• Facilitates parent involvement in education, including conferences with parents/teachers/counselors.
