Job Title: Middle School Business Teacher

Job Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Middle School Business Teacher to join our academic team. This role is ideal for a forward-thinking educator with a passion for business, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. The ideal candidate will not only deliver high-quality instruction but also inspire students to think critically, work collaboratively, and explore real-world business concepts that promote career readiness and 21st-century skills.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver standards-based lessons that introduce students to key business concepts such as economics, entrepreneurship, supply and demand, marketing, budgeting, investing, and ethics.
  • Incorporate cross-curricular projects and interdisciplinary connections to various subjects.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies including project-based learning (PBL), simulations, digital tools, and case studies.
  • Adapt and differentiate lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English Language Learners and students with IEPs or 504 plans.
  • Promote the development of critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration through engaging classroom activities and real-world scenarios.
  • Responsible for teaching 6th grade Business, 7th grade Entrepreneurship, and 8th grade Pathways to College & Careers (HS credit).
  • Operate and maintain a student-led bookstore as well as the FMS Dawg House.
Classroom Management & Student Engagement
  • Create and maintain a respectful, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that supports student success.
  • Foster a sense of ownership and accountability in students through clear expectations and constructive feedback.
  • Use a variety of assessment tools to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Incorporate technology tools to enhance instruction and student engagement (e.g., Google Workspace, Canva, Excel/Google Sheets, QuickBooks, business simulation platforms).
  • Introduce students to business-related software and applications that build digital literacy and workplace readiness.
Collaboration & Professional Growth
  • Work collaboratively with grade-level teams, counselors, and administrators to support student achievement and school initiatives.
  • Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, school committees, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the business curriculum.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Education, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Valid state teaching certification with a Business, CTE, or Middle Grades endorsement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business fundamentals and middle school teaching strategies.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
