Job summary

Athletics at Park Place Middle School in Monroe, WA seeks an Athletic Coach - Assistant Level to support the head coach in teaching fundamentals, organizing practices, and leading student athletes with a focus on academics and sportsmanship.

You will work under the Head Coach, attend required meetings, manage equipment, and ensure safety and compliance with district policies and league requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience in the assigned sport and at the same level.
• Previous teaching experience at the same level as the assigned sport.
• Valid First Aid/CPR card prior to assuming any coaching responsibilities.
• Washington State Patrol and FBI fingerprint clearance required.
• I-9 employment eligibility compliance.
• HIV/HBV training within 60 days of hire.
• HR new hire training within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Teaching sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one's team.
• Supporting and enforcing the District’s rules/regulations and code of conduct for athletes.
• Maintaining communications with the head coach including attending required coaches’ meetings.
• Complying with Monroe High School rules, District policies, and WIAA League requirements.
• Attending all team meetings, practices and competitions as assigned.
• Supervising and conducting practices and contests safely; supervising locker rooms and buses.
• Managing uniforms, equipment and school facilities in a responsible manner.
• Assisting with press box duties and sidelines activities.
• Ensuring the availability of a properly supplied first aid kit and emergency care cards at all times.
• Monitoring athletes' school attendance, grades and personal conduct.
