Job summary

Athletics at Hidden River Middle School in Snohomish, WA, is seeking an assistant Athletic Coach for middle-level girls basketball. The role supports the head coach, plans fundamentals, and promotes academics and sportsmanship within a positive learning environment.

The position is part-time, with practices from 2:30-5:00 and an emphasis on safety, ethics and student development. Apply through the Monroe School District Human Resources office.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience in the assigned sport and at the same level.
• Previous teaching experience at the same level as the assigned sport.
• Valid First Aid/CPR card prior to assuming any coaching responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Teaching sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one's team.
• Supporting and enforcing the District’s rules/regulations and code of conduct for athletes.
• Maintaining communications with the head coach including attending required coaches’ meetings.
• Complying with Monroe High School rules, District policies, and WIAA League requirements.
• Assisting the head coach as directed and attending all team meetings, practices and competitions.
• Supervising and conducting practices and contests safely; supervising locker rooms and buses.
• Managing uniforms, equipment and school facilities in a responsible manner
