Job summary

Columbia Middle School in Moses Lake is seeking an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach for the middle school team. You will assist the head coach, help organize practices, and ensure safety and skill development for student-athletes.

The role requires knowledge of modern coaching methods, adherence to WIAA rules, and the ability to communicate with parents regarding attendance and safety concerns. This is a part-time coaching position within the school district.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to carry out the duties per district policies.
• Knowledge of the sport; ability to teach skills to student-athletes.
• Valid First Aid and CPR/AED or ability to obtain before start.
• Meet WIAA age requirements for the position.
• Organizational skills to ensure a well-managed program.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in duties and scheduling.
• Organize, supervise, and evaluate practice sessions.
• Implement safety plan and teach fundamentals.
• Inform parents about attendance and injuries.
• Adhere to WIAA, league, district, and building rules.
