Job summary

Zeta Charter Schools seeks a Middle School Assistant Principal (Humanities or STEM concentration) to lead instructional teams and drive strong student outcomes in NYC. The role is full-time, on-site, with a salary range of $105,000–$122,000 and reports to the Principal.

Initiatives include building a rigorous culture, coaching departments, and advancing student mastery through data-driven strategies in grades 6–8.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an Assistant Principal leading instructional teams.
• Minimum 2 years of classroom teaching experience.
• Deep understanding of Middle School Humanities or STEM instruction.
• Experience using student work and data to coach teams to mastery.
• Proven ability to develop people and build high-performing teams.
• Strong judgment navigating complex challenges with urgency and clarity.
• High expectations and ownership of team growth and student success.

Responsibilities

• Build a joyful, safe, and intellectually rigorous school culture.
• Foster authentic relationships with staff, students, and families.
• Uphold Humanities instructional excellence across English and History.
• Lead data-driven academic outcomes for English and History (grades 6–8).
• Coach English and History teaching teams for strong instruction and SEL.
• Analyze data to identify trends and inform action plans.
• Model problem-solving and ownership within the leadership team.
• Contribute to leadership system design for long-term success.
