Job summary

Kentwood Public Schools is seeking an ASD Supported Resource Teacher for the Middle School to facilitate academic and social growth. You will implement district-approved curricula, document progress, and tailor instruction to individual student needs, particularly for students with ASD, in collaboration with SE and Gen Ed staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current teaching methods, pedagogy, and differentiated instruction based on student learning styles.
• Ability to use data information systems, data analysis, and planning of action steps.
• Familiarity with applicable laws governing education and students.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
• Experience collaborating with special education teams to support inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer middle school curriculum aligned with district goals.
• Create engaging lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Teach required subjects and promote inclusive, safe learning environments.
• Differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs including ASD.
• Collaborate with SE and Gen Ed staff to provide inclusion opportunities.
• Conduct ongoing assessments and adapt instructional methods accordingly.
• Prepare progress reports and participate in IEP meetings.
• Organize records, grading, and attendance per district procedures.
