Job summary

Kentwood Public Schools in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a ParaProfessional to support students in the Special Education ASD program under supervision of a certified staff member. You will assist with instructional tasks, reinforce learning, and help maintain a supportive classroom.

The role includes non-instructional duties such as supervision during lunch and bus duty, field trip support, CPI training, and collaboration with teachers to implement IEP goals and PBSPs.

Qualifications

• Two years of college study or an associate degree is required.
• Willingness to participate in CPI training and district procedures.
• Ability to work with students with Autism and diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning and social development.
• Assist in administering classroom assignments and assessments.
• Differentiate instructional materials to meet individual student needs as directed by teachers.
• Document student progress in data tracking systems per IEP/PCS/PBSP.
• Support classroom behavioral management to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Supervise non-instructional activities (lunch, bus duty, playground, study hall).
• Assist with personal care needs as required by Personal Care Services (PCS).
• Accompany students on field trips for supervision and safety.
• Coordinate with teachers for parent communication to promote involvement.
• Support students with disabilities in all instructional activities to maximize inclusion.
