Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a technically skilled developer to design, build, and maintain middle office reporting tools. You will automate data processing, develop SQL data extracts, and collaborate with analysts to translate workflows into scalable solutions.

You will debug and refactor code, support testing and quality control, and contribute to process improvements across the CLO Middle Office. Experience in VBA, SQL, and Python is required, with a strong analytical mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, accounting or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Two to three years of relevant work experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with VBA, SQL, and Python.
• Proven ability to build tools from scratch.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain business-line tools used by CLO Middle Office reporting analysts.
• Build automation and data processing solutions using VBA, Python, and SQL to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and minimize operational risk.
• Partner with Middle Office analysts to understand reporting workflows, data sources, and pain points, and translate them into technical solutions.
• Debug, enhance, and refactor existing VBA, SQL, and Python code used in production reporting tools.
• Develop SQL queries and data extracts to support reconciliations, compliance reporting, and analytics.
• Create well‑documented, user‑friendly tools that can be maintained and supported by the broader team.
• Assist with testing, validation, and quality control of newly developed or enhanced tools.
• Support ongoing process improvement initiatives across CLO Middle Office operations.
• Serve as a technical point of contact for troubleshooting issues related to internally developed tools.
