Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. offers an internship in New York City to gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry. You will work with the Middle Market Solutions underwriting team on risk assessments, pricing and client relationships, including catastrophe modeling concepts.

The 2027 internship runs June 2 to August 6, is a hybrid role (3 days onsite, 2 from home) in NYC, with relocation not provided. The hourly rate is $26 for NYC residents, and interns are eligible for Arch benefits.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a degree in Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Junior or Senior student with graduation dates in 2027–2028.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to network and engage with clients.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables).

Responsibilities

• Observe and assist with risk assessments, pricing evaluations, and relationship management activities for underwriting.
• Support underwriting and evaluation of Natural Catastrophe Accumulation.
• Learn underwriting within governance frameworks and use risk selection and pricing tools.
• Support policy documentation and administration.
• Support completion of policy administration and credit control processes.
