Arch Insurance Group Inc. is offering a 2027 internship in Alpharetta, GA, focused on risk assessment, pricing evaluations, and relationship management within the MidCorp Middle Market Solutions underwriting team.

Interns will learn catastrophe modelling, underwriting governance, and policy administration while engaging in client-facing networking events during a hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) program from June 2, 2027 to August 6, 2027.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a field related to Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Business, Accounting, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• College level — current Junior or Senior with graduation dates of December 2027–May 2028.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to attend networking and client-facing events.

Responsabilités

• Observe and assist with risk assessments, pricing evaluations and relationship management for the underwriting team.
• Support underwriting and evaluation of Natural Catastrophe Accumulation with an understanding of catastrophe modelling.
• Learn underwriting concepts within the LoB governance framework and use risk selection and pricing tools.
• Assist with policy documentation and policy administration tasks.

About This Role

Observe and assist with risk assessments, pricing evaluations, and relationship management activities for the MidCorp Middle Market Solutions underwriting team. Support team in underwriting and evaluating Natural Catastrophe Accumulation, demonstrating an understanding of catastrophe modeling and interpretation of scenarios. Learn concepts of how to underwrite in line with LoB governance framework - e.g. Underwriting Authorities, global MSU, Underwriting Guidelines, Rules and Principles. Learn and leverage risk selection and pricing tools. Support policy documentation and administration. Support completion of policy administration and credit control processes.

Qualifications

• Actively completing area of study in Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Business, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related program.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• College level - current Junior or Senior student, with graduation dates ranging from December2027-May2028.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability and desire to attend networking and client facing events.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.
• Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner.
• Team player who collaborates effectively.
• Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Location & Work Arrangement

The program dates are June2,2027–August6,2027. This position is classified as a hybrid position. You will work 3 days onsite and 2 days from home. This position is located in Alpharetta, GA. Relocation and housing assistance is not provided for this role.

Pay

For individuals assigned to or hired to work in Alpharetta, GA, the hourly rate is $24 as of the time of posting. The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate. The above range may be modified in the future. Intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits. $24 per hour
