Job summary

Provident Bank is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager II to manage a portfolio of Middle Market lending relationships in New Jersey. You will support client retention, portfolio growth, and credit quality through financial analysis, underwriting, and ongoing monitoring.

The role involves preparing credit analyses, communicating with Relationship Managers, and coordinating with Credit Administration and Loan Operations to ensure timely processes and compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of commercial banking, credit, underwriting, or portfolio management experience.
• Strong financial statement analysis and commercial credit underwriting skills.
• Knowledge of commercial lending products, credit risk management, and portfolio administration.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned Middle Market commercial relationships in partnership with Relationship Managers.
• Monitor portfolio performance, credit quality, covenant compliance, risk ratings, delinquency trends, and emerging issues; escalate concerns promptly.
• Prepare annual reviews, renewals, modifications, and other ongoing portfolio analyses accurately and within required timeframes.
• Maintain complete and current credit files and follow through on financial reporting, documentation, and approval requirements.
• Prepare well-supported credit memorandums and loan presentations for new and existing borrowing relationships.
• Analyze financial statements, cash flow, repayment capacity, collateral, and borrower and guarantor strength.
• Identify key lending risks and mitigating factors and support the structuring of credit facilities in accordance with bank policy and credit standards.
• Complete credit analyses for transactions of moderate complexity and partner with senior portfolio or credit resources on more complex relationships.
