Job summary

Rinker Design Associates, LLC (RDA) is seeking a Roadway Engineer to join our Transportation Platform team in Fredericksburg, VA. This role focuses on designing safe, efficient transportation infrastructure across Virginia, with a collaborative, growth-minded team environment and a $110k–$160k yearly compensation.

Qualified candidates will have a Civil/Transportation Engineering degree, 4–8 years of experience, and a Virginia PE or EIT with PE within 1 year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering (or related field).
• 4–8 years of experience in transportation design and/or project management.
• PE license in Virginia or EIT with the ability to obtain PE within 1 year.
• Familiarity with VDOT standards and project delivery processes.
• Proficiency in MicroStation preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Shape transportation projects including roads, highways, and traffic management systems that improve how people move.
• Collaborate with planners, engineers, contractors, and public agencies to deliver results.
• Assist with scheduling, cost estimation, and resource planning for projects.
• Prepare engineering designs and documentation that align with VDOT standards.
• Lead by example by mentoring junior team members and upholding technical standards.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
