• Experience with automated coding systems and oncology coding is necessary.

Summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL is recruiting for a MID REVENUE CYCLE CODING EDUCATOR. This is a full-time remote position available for Florida residents and other select states (AL, AZ, AR, FL, GA, ID, IN, IA, KS, LA, MS, MO, MT, NC, OH, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WY).

Position Highlights:

The MID REVENUE CYCLE CODING EDUCATOR provides coding and charging-related education and training to providers, nurses, Revenue Integrity (RI), and Health Information Management (HIM) staff.

The responsibilities include:

• Designing, creating, and implementing educational and training curriculum to initiate new processes based on initiatives, coding projects, and business needs.
• Conducting monthly audits and quality reviews for staff to ensure compliance with documentation and coding guidelines.
• Reviewing and improving clinical documentation and coding quality, creating tailored curriculum for clinical services.
• Onboarding new RI and HIM team members, documenting their progress during the 90-day introductory period.

Credentials and Experience:

• Associate's degree with four (4) years outpatient and/or professional practice coding experience, or a High School Diploma/GED plus six (6) years of experience.

Certification:

Any one of the following certifications is required:

• (CPC-H) Cert Professional Coder-Hosp
• (CCS) Certified Coding Specialist
• (CPMA) Professional Certified Medical Auditor
• (CPC) Cert Professional Coder
• (CCS-P) Certified Coding Specialist-Physician

Experience with automated coding systems and extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS, and relevant guidelines is required. Excellent communication skills, proficiency with MS Office, and experience with oncology coding and Zoom training are also necessary.
