Job summary

SouthState Bank in Raleigh, NC seeks a Loan Assistant II to direct timely processing and fulfillment of Commercial loans, working with the deal team on simple to semi-complex loans and client relationships.

The role focuses on accuracy of loan documents, compliance with regulations, and coordinating closings with lenders, attorneys, and clients while maintaining strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Education: a high school diploma or equivalent is required; bachelor's degree or coursework in banking, finance or lending is an asset.
• Experience: 3-4 years of experience in commercial lending.

Responsibilities

• Track and manage the loan pipeline, maturities, uninsured reports, and past dues reports, ensuring timely processing and deadlines.
• Coordinate closings with lenders, attorneys, insurance agents and clients.
• Input data into loan processing systems accurately and efficiently.
• Order title searches, UCC searches, appraisals and flood certifications as needed.
• Review closed and funded loans for document completion and timely booking.
• Provide back-up support to other Loan Assistants for PTO and absences.
• Maintain a tickler system on outstanding post-closing documentation and report on status.
