Job summary

North State Bank in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Banker Loan Assistant in the Specialized Lending Group. This full-time, in-office role supports loan processing, closings, and servicing for commercial and consumer loans.

You will gather and review documentation, coordinate due diligence, and help maintain portfolio quality. The ideal candidate has an associate degree and 3+ years of banking experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and a detail-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Three or more years of commercial loan support or banking experience.
Working knowledge of commercial lending processes, loan documentation, and servicing requirements.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist lenders with commercial, consumer, construction-to-permanent, and participated loan requests by gathering and reviewing required documentation.
Coordinate due diligence activities, including credit reports, appraisals, environmental assessments, title commitments, flood determinations, lien searches, and other supporting documentation.
Ensure loan files are complete, accurate, and compliant with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.
Serve as a trusted resource for lenders throughout the underwriting, closing, and servicing process.
Prepare and coordinate loan documentation packages for commercial and consumer loan closings.
Monitor outstanding items and proactively follow up to keep transactions moving forward.
