Job summary

Felsburg Holt & Ullevig seeks a mid-level water resources engineer in Des Moines, IA. Lead drainage and floodplain analyses for transportation projects, mentor teammates, and contribute to business development.

The ideal candidate has 8–15 years of experience, a PE license, and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D or MicroStation, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS. A civil engineering background with DOT experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on water resources; PE license strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of drainage design and water resources experience, especially in transportation projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation; experience with hydrology/hydraulic modeling software (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS).
  • Familiarity with DOT, county, and city requirements is advantageous.
  • Project management experience and interest in marketing/business development.
