Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Substation Structural Engineer in Dallas, TX (and surrounding areas like Tampa, FL). You will support planning, analysis and delivery of structural design for electrical substations, including steel structures and foundations.

Responsibilities include producing calculations, specifications, and deliverables, coordinating with disciplines, and mentoring junior staff. Travel to project sites may be required; PE licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of post-education structural engineering experience, including substation work.
• EIT certification and familiarity with building codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, analysis, design and delivery of substation structural solutions.
• Prepare calculations, design criteria and documentation for steel and concrete.
• Produce construction specifications, cost estimates, and technical inputs for proposals.
• Review drawings, respond to RFIs, and assist during construction phase.
• Mentor junior team members and ensure QA/QC on deliverables.
