Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Mid-Level Structural Engineer for our Portland, OR office. You will perform structural design and analysis of environmental structures such as low-rise industrial buildings, pump stations, process basins, and treatment facilities.

The role leads construction administration for upgrades to wastewater, water, and reclaimed water plants, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience.
• BS or MS in Civil Engineering with Structural concentration from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required, Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred or able to obtain in OR/WA.
• Experience in design/construction of reinforced concrete, steel, reinforced masonry and/or structural aluminum.

Responsibilities

• Structural design per governing codes (ACI, AISC, ASCE).
• Lead structural design and construction administration for major projects upgrading wastewater, water, and reclaimed water treatment plants.
• Perform shop drawings reviews and field inspections.
• Communicate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Some local travel for site reconnaissance, condition assessments, and structural observations.
