Job summary

WSP is seeking a Full-Time Mid-Level Structural (Buildings) Engineer to work from Seattle, WA (also Denver, CO; Tacoma, WA; Portland, OR; San Diego, CA; Virginia Beach, VA) to support the Federal Programs AEC Team on federal, defense and public-sector projects.

The role targets a design-focused engineer who can lead portions of structural work, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams through design and construction phases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • 5+ years of post-education experience in analysis and design of building structures.
  • Professional Engineer license.
  • Proficiency with structural codes and design standards.
  • Experience with structural design software such as ETABS, SAP2000, and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform structural analysis and design of new and existing buildings.
  • Develop structural drawings, calculations, and design documentation.
  • Coordinate with architectural, civil, geotechnical, and MEP teams.
  • Lead site visits and construction-phase services.
  • Provide technical guidance and quality review for junior staff.
  • Prepare models and BIM data for design delivery.
