Job summary

Victory Live is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to build and maintain features across Ruby on Rails and Hanami services. You will own well-scoped pieces of our B2B marketplace and ticketing platform from design to production, collaborating with senior engineers to level up.

You will write robust tests with RSpec, debug production issues, and work in our data layer with efficient queries and migrations. The role emphasizes AI tooling usage and fast, high-quality shipping.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years building production software, with at least 1–2 years in Ruby on Rails.
• Comfortable writing and debugging ActiveRecord queries, migrations, and background jobs.
• Solid grasp of RSpec and test-driven development.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs and relational databases.
• Growing but genuine use of AI tooling in day-to-day workflow.

Responsibilities

• Ship features in Rails and Hanami, from design through production.
• Write tests with RSpec to catch regressions in CI.
• Debug production issues using logs, metrics, and Rails console access.
• Work within the data layer with efficient ActiveRecord queries and migrations.
• Handle background work with Sidekiq jobs.
• Take code reviews seriously and act on feedback.
• Use AI tooling daily (Claude Code, Copilot) for scaffolding, tests, and debugging.
