Job summary

CGS is seeking a dedicated Paralegal to join a fast-paced legal team and support various aspects of the company’s portfolio. The role reports to the Office of General Counsel and involves extensive research, drafting, and discovery tasks.

The ideal candidate will have paralegal certification or JD, 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience, and strong skills in LEXIS/Westlaw and eDiscovery tools. Candidates must thrive under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Qualifications

  • Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study
  • At least two years of litigation paralegal experience is required; trial experience is very helpful
  • At least one year of experience in automated litigation support. Requires knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw
  • Hands-on familiarity with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems
  • Familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities and work well under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, accurate, timely, and reliable paralegal support reporting to the OGC
  • Assist LITB or IALB and support various legal accounts
  • Conduct legal research and locate relevant laws, decisions, and articles
  • Prepare preliminary drafts of legal memoranda and correspondence
  • Assist in drafting and issuing legal documents and filings
  • Maintain documentation of records produced in discovery and case management
  • Prepare privilege logs and review discovery materials for relevance and privilege
  • Coordinate classification reviews with subject matter experts and manage discovery requests
  • Prepare electronic or paper releases for customers
  • Provide weekly updates to management and clients
