Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Harvard, Illinois. The role focuses on maintenance and repair of heavy-duty diesel engines, with a Monday–Friday schedule and first shift hours.

The position offers an hourly wage of $28.19, bonus opportunities, and comprehensive benefits. Candidates should have a high school diploma or technical certification and relevant diesel/mechanical experience. CDL Class A is preferred and must be obtainable within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification, preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Two years or more of related training/experience preferred.
• CDL CLASS A preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identify root cause of failures and perform repairs as required.
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint.
• Follow Shop Management System and documentation requirements.
